In this Intro to Sewing on the Machine workshop, we will cover the basics of the sewing machine and practice sewing with a straight stitch- each student will leave with one zipper pouch! Supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric and matching thread if you have a specific design in mind.

Tuesday, Jan. 14, 6:30-8:30pm

Bring your own Sewing Machine or Rent a Machine (2 classroom machines are available to rent for $10). Please only bring working sewing machines to the class*.

Supplies Provided: Plastic Zippers of various random colors and lengths, Scrap Fabric Bin of printed quilt weight cottons, Instructions and Templates provided.
Tools to share-provided include: Fabric Scissors, pins, thread.

Hosted at Observable Universe in Ample Storage in North Durham (Just beyond the intersection of E. Club and N. Roxboro). The Swamp Witch Pop-up Shop is open for shopping during workshop hours.

Cancellation Policy: Attendees must sign up by the day before the lesson. 2 people must be signed up by the day before, if only one person is signed up- workshop is subject to cancellation (signup with a friend!). Instructor reserves the right to cancel or postpone workshops for personal reasons. Students will be notified via email of any cancellations. If the workshop is canceled, students will receive a full refund in 4-5 business days.
